Introduction

On a chilly Bonfire Night, having a glass of this hot wine is a great way of warming you up from top to toe. It also gives you a cheeky glow.

Ingredients

1 bottleof white wine
400mlapple juice
2 sticksof cinnamon
2star anise
100gdemerara sugar
1orange, strips of rind

Method

Place all of the ingredients in a saucepan over a medium heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and continue to heat for about 10 minutes for all of the flavours to infuse. Make sure you don’t allow the wine to boil as you will lose all of the alcohol. Serve in heatproof glasses or mugs.

PS… If you prefer, red wine can be used instead of white.
